Sneasel - Keen Eye by KelpGull Sneasel - Keen Eye by KelpGull
For a contest at :iconpokedorks:.
There's a lot more I wanted to do with the shading, but aaag, colleeeeege. I also need to start shading according to a light source, rather than just sticking shadows where I think they look cool ;P

Ah well, I kinda like the tone.

The contest was to show a pokemon using its ability. Sneasel's is 'Keen Eye,' which technically prevents accuracy loss, but I think it works in this situation too.

That Fearow's going to get quite the nasty shock when it returns. (Sneasels subside on eggs.)

I really like the lines on Seasel. I wish I could remember what I did. I'm always trying to get smooth lines in Photoshop. Raaa, broken scanner fails.

You did an excellent job, and the idea is great! Sometimes you forget that wild pokemon have to eat something too! [Like how pidgey eat caterpie o.O] But my favorite part would definetly have to be Sneasel, and his mischevious look :meow: And Fearow really does look like he just took out of the tree with all the leaves lightly being brustled from the base 8D

Nice work. I like the viewpoint with Sneasel look mischievously up at Fearow. The Sneasel has a lot of personality. Good job on the grass and the style of the tree in the backdrop, too. I like how its trunk and branches peep out from between the foliage here and there.

Nice, I love the sly expression. In terms of critique, all I can see is that the colouring is quite flat. But that's okay cos time can be of the essence!

And college is, alas, more important than hobbies.

Yeah, unfortunately I didn't have time to shade this as intricately as I would have liked :/

I am really digging that sneasel. That face is great.

And I too am struggling to get smooth lines in photoshop. Although I'm probably gonna move to Manga Studio now that I have it and everything. I can't seem to get my tablet to be un-jittery. (That may actually be my hand, though. XD)

Thanks! For some reason, accuracy was important to me in this XD So I did a few preliminary sketches, rather than just taking the first thing I doodled.

I've never used Manga Studio D:
How is it?
And yeah. 'Fencing with the paper' is hard with a jittery hand, I've learned. Also, it freaks out my tablet, haha. Though it was fun to try.
